What information is provided on this system?
The "MONMOUTH COUNTY ONLINE PUBLIC RECORDS SEARCH SYSTEM" currently delivers Monmouth County public records in four main forms:
LAND RECORDS IMAGE ARCHIVE
When property is transferred from one owner to the next a new Deed is typically filed with the County Clerk’s office showing the Grantor’s (seller) name and address, the Grantee’s (buyer) name and address, the Consideration (sale price) and the identification of the property being conveyed (street address, block & lot, metes & bounds) along with various other details specific to the transaction.
Similarly, when new financing is received on a property a new Mortgage is typically filed with the County Clerk’s office showing the Mortgagor’s (lender) name and address, the Mortgager’s (borrower) name and address, the loan amount, the identification of the property being conveyed (street address, block & lot, metes & bounds) along with various other details specific to the transaction.
As much as the "Deed & Mortgage Image Archive" is a digital reproduction of the original document filed with the County Clerk’s office, it does not contain the "official seal". To obtain a certified copy please contact the County Clerk’s office.
TAX LIST IMAGE ARCHIVE
Each year, every town must submit a "Tax List" to the County Board of Taxation showing the current property owners name, property location and tax assessment along with other details for every property located within the municipality’s boarders. The "Image Archive" is a digital reproduction of the original Tax Lists filed by the various municipalities throughout the years.
The "Image Archive" of the Real Property Tax Lists is divided into four (4) searchable components.
1. Address– Index of all properties listed by "Street Name"
2. Owner– Index of all properties listed by "Owner’s Name"
3. Block & Lot– Index of all properties listed by "Block & Lot" designation. Also includes Exempt, Railroad, Telephone indexes.
4. Aggregate– Index of all Tax List pages dealing with summary data. Also includes Tax List, RailRoad, Public Utility Property, Exempt, Special Tax indexes.
This structure was developed to best simulate the searching techniques that would be employed by an individual had they had the actual books to search from.
COMPUTERIZED DATA
The "Computerized Data" allows the user to perform specific searches on various criteria and, using the various forms of "output", offers the ability to export the results for future use.
The "Computerized Data" is divided into two (2) separate components.
1. MODIV – Detailed property information. (Owner’s name, mailing address, property location, tax assessment etc.)
2. Sales Data - Detailed property sales information. (Grantor, Grantee, price, date, deed book and page, square footage etc.)
TAX MAPS
The Tax Map Archive provides a digital reproduction of the various tax maps that have been submitted to the County Board of Taxation. Tax maps are indexed and searchable by municipality and year.
