The book and page numbers are unique identification numbers given to a document at the time of recording.

What is recording date?

The recording date is the date the document was recorded by County Clerk’s Office.

What is basic search?

A basic search is a quick way to view a document when the instrument number or book and page is already known. You can also search for documents recorded on a certain date.

How to use basic search page?

Entering the instrument number or book and page will retrieve a specific document. Entering the date will retrieve all deeds and mortgages recorded on that date.

What is advanced search? When should user use it?

An advanced search should be used when you do not know the instrument number, book and page or date of recording. Entering a name and municipality (or countywide) will retrieve all documents recorded with that name. When the index appears, scroll to the record you wish to view.

How to view the image?

When the index appears, click on “VIEW” and the image will appear.

What is "results per page"?

Answer

What do you mean by seller\lender?

The seller is the grantor on the deed. The lender is the mortgagee on the mortgage.

What do you mean by buyer\borrower?

The buyer is the grantee on the deed and the borrower is the mortgagor on the mortgage.

Can we do title searches here?

Absolutely not. Our Disclaimer is very clear. Title searches must be performed in the Office of the County Clerk where all recorded documents are available.

How do I find my municipality?

On the Advanced Search Screen, use the drop-down box (Town Name) to select the correct town. If you do not know the town, choose countywide at the very bottom of the list.

Can I save the Image?

No. The image may be printed, but not saved.
